THE accolades keep coming for the Canley Vale Junior Rugby League Club.
This time the Kookas have been nominated for the NRL One Community Grassroots Club of the year.
It follows on from their success at the Women In League Round award for the best grass roots activity at their home ground.
The 2000 Parramatta District Club of the Year and Club's Club of the Year is gearing up for the finals with seven teams to line-
up in the play-offs in the coming weeks.
Secretary Valarie Uilou, herself the reigning Parramatta District Volunteer of the Year, sais she is still pinching herself with the accolades the
club is receiving.
"I can't believe it," she said.
"The accolades just top off what has been a great year.
"It makes our efforts on and off the field all the more worthwhile."
It's been a big week for rugby league in Fairfield - it's not over.
As well as local, school and club success, there has also
been other thingson the radar.Bonnyrigg High School competing in the Koori Cup - a seven-a-side round robin competition for both indigenous and non-indiginous students on Friday as
part of the NRL's "Close the Gap" round.
Cabramatta Sports ground to host a Parramatta Junior League under-6s and under-7s gala day on Sunday August 14.
Adams Park, Fairfield Park and Carrawood Park to host games as the Parramatta Junior League finals get under way on Saturday.
