CANLEY Vale-Lansvale Junior Rugby League Club will field an A Grade team in the new inter district women's compe- tition expected to launched next month.
The side will include Austra- lian women's test player Charmaine Heta.
The Parramatta District Junior Rugby League and the Canley Vale club revealed the news exclusively to the Fairfield Advance yesterday (Tuesday).
Canley Vale-Lansvale based at Adams Park at Canley Vale, will field one of six A grade teams in the inter-district competition. "It's great news for the club being a part of this historic new competition". Canley Vale-Lansvale president Noel Clarke said.
"Charmaine Heta who has played Test rugby league for the Australian Women's
team, will play for the A grade team in the Kookaburras' colours.
"This is a great coup for the club.
"Charmaine will also coach our combined 13-14 years' girls team."
Last year the Kookaburras revealed plans to enter a combined 13-14 girls team in the proposed girls rugby league girls competition, under the control of the Parramatta District Junior Rugby League.
Parramatta District Junior Rugby League executive officer Terry Rose said three clubs in the Fairfield area - Canley Vale-Lansvale, Fairfield Patrician Brothers and Canley Heights RSL - would field teams in the girls 13-14 years' exhibition competitions, starting soon.
We intend to have a fully fledged competition for girls in the 13-14 years'; age group starting in 2006" Rose said.

"But we plan now to play a series of exhibition mtches for the girls' teams on the weekends, fitting in with the regular schedule of matches for many other age groups." Matches are expected to start some time next month.
